Thank you for your interest in the Massachusetts Standardized Documentation Project (MSDP). The MSDP has been created over the past three years by a group of providers, payers, and consumers. General information, the forms and manuals, and training materials are all in the public domain and available at:

We have established a vendor certification process to help guide interested vendors through the details of integrating the MSDP forms into your EHR system. The certification is offered as an assurance to Mental Health and Substance Abuse providers in Massachusetts that your system meets all of the compliance and medical necessity requirements that the MSDP forms provide.

To begin the process, please complete the application and letter of intent below and return them along with your application fee to ABH, Inc. Once the application has been reviewed, we will forward you the MSDP's copyrighted data-mapping file, along with the password.

Notification of Intent / Application for MSDP Certification

Once you have programmed the forms into your system, your organization will produce a tangible version of your software product that you will submit for review by the MSDP. We will then review your version of the forms to confirm that the software's interface can properly capture all of the necessary data fields in the proper order and in the proper format, while maintaining proper medical necessity linkage as per the design of the MSDP form set. Once these conditions are met, the MSDP will certify your company's software.
