The Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH) is a statewide association of behavioral healthcare providers. Each provider member is a corporation organized under Massachusetts General Law and is governed by a board of directors comprised of professionals, citizens and decision-makers who promote the highest management standards and sound policy decisions in the communities they serve. ABH members employ 20,000 professional and paraprofessional staff and provide services to 117,000 citizens every day.
ABH’s mission is to promote community-based mental health and addiction treatment services as the most appropriate, clinically effective and cost-sensitive method for providing care to individuals in need. Accordingly, ABH advocates for appropriate public policy and adequate funding for each service and works with the administration and legislature at the state and national levels to support this goal.
